Movie Review- Barfii

Superlative performances by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Barfii is a delightful sweet dish that cannot be missed. The chill of Darjeeling and the rusty Kolkata serve as the backdrop for Barfii. Anurag Basu has really worked hard with the details of his script.
But unfortunately inspite of the great performances and all the hard work, the screenplay of Barfii drags at time and seems too long. Interval comes after a lengthy wait. The story has its loopholes and seems unbelievable at times.
But the characters have successfully pulled in the audience’s attention that subdues the lethargic attitude of the story. Ranbir Kapoor’s excellence lies in the simplicity of his performance you would never think of “Sanwariya” or “Ajab Prem ki gajab kahani” or “Rockstar” as you watch him in Barfii. He portrays Barfii in a special manner, which no one could have been.
A marvel in terms of the performances, the movie marks the debut of Ileana D’cruz, who has appeared promising. Priyanka Chopra, yet again, sets the screen with a landmark performance as Jhilmil in Barfii.
Cinematography holds the audience back to their seats. Music soothes the ears.
Barfii is definitely a collection for the movie lovers. But “aam janta” would not be able to relate with it. Barfii gives a hope of colorful life by a deaf and mute man, who did not just cry behind his drawbacks but enjoyed every bit of it.
Barfii is a “Sweet” but “organic”
