Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Run for Life

Bhaad-Milkha-Bhaag MovieReview

Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra is known for his different Cinema that calls for a good screenplay and sensible story line. This time too Mehra is all set to take the audience on a ride in a life of a real life Hero, Milkha Singh.

Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra chooses Farhan Akhtar to live the character on screen and his love interest is played by Sonam Kapoor. The bit that has been showcased in the Promos, Farhan looks a little unnatural to play a Sardar.

With all due respect to the Flying Sikh, Milkha Singh, Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra has come up with the unnecessarily long trail of running incidents with Frahan Akhtar playing the legend on screen in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. A typical Rakeysh OmPrakash mehra Film, BMB does showcases some extraordinary scenes which are high on emotions, but altogether the film has failed to make the audience sit with their eyes set on the Big Screen for around 3 hours.

BMB is a collection of scenes that are being stretched like a bubble gum. You chew it like a fool just to find that there would be no juice left in the end. Dealing with the story of one of the most respected athletes of India, Milkha Singh, it lacks the sensitivity that should have been a part of it. Infact the initial part of the movie reminded me of Pan Singh Tomar, unwillingly.

Farhan Akhtar’s performance is good but again fails to touch your heart. Other characters have also played their parts with convictions. Divya Dutta has become an every director favorite. Infact most of the films portraying *woman of substance* (in their own little way), have Divya Dutta in them. Rakesysh  OmPrakash Mehra himself gives a guest appearance in the film as a pilot.

Mehra has tried to inculcate as many incidents as possible from the life of Milkha Singh, but that has made the script slip from the hands. The length plays the spoil spot.
