The television Industry is once again going through a downfall. A storm of old and stale drama and some new ventures which definitely miss the spices are making the idiot Box appear more Idiot these days.
Life OK and colors have drastically failed with Ekta Kapoor’s “Ek thi Nayika” and “Nautanki- The Comedy Theatre” respectively. Even “Nach Baliye-5” could not create a wonder for Star Plus.
The biggest ‘jhatka’ for colors was the change of the original Anandi, from “Balika Vadhu”. Channels need to understand that viewers need something fresh and new to watch everyday. The basis of TRPs hold a very suspicious projection in my opinion, because most of the people I know, like to stay far away from these highly melodramatic series. And I keep on wondering if we do not then who else watches these ‘high funda’ dramas.
The basic ideas behind this piece of writing is just to ask the channels to wake up from their slumber and serve us something refreshing.
As far as the people who actually watch the television these days do it out of their boredom and not interest.
