Soon after India emerged victorious at the World Cup 2011, and Zaheer Khan finished as the highest wicket taker of the tournament, his proud parents were reportedly insistent on getting the best bowler of the season married. And their wish was Zaheer’s command! We hear Zaheer is planning to get married from his long time girlfriend and Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani very soon.

Buzz is that the couple plans to tie the knot this year. A source close to the couple said, “Ever since they gave their relationship a second shot, they have come even closer than before. Wedding bells are in the offing.”

The couple met at a function in 2005 when the touring Australian team was leaving India and Isha was performing at the event. But it wasn’t exactly love at first sight.

They kept bumping into each other at parties and social dos and eventually led a strong relationship for two years. Reportedly, Zaheer even helped Isha find a place in Khar.  They called it quits in 2007, post which they didn’t stay in touch. How deep must their love be that neither of the two was ever linked with anyone else in these two years of separation. On July 28, 2010, Mumbai Mirror broke the story that the couple is back together, trying to make things work, come hell or high water.

In an small talk with TOI, Isha is asked if the couple is indeed planning to seal their relationship with a ‘married’ tag. Isha did not deny. But all that she simply said was, “I really don’t want to comment on this.” Zaheer however remained unavailable for comment.

Model Poonam Pandey who requisitioned the Indian cricket board saying that her bare-all act will have a therapeutic effect on the Men in Blue, said on Monday she intends to stick to her commitment.

A tweet, purportedly of Pandey, said “once Steve Forbes said ‘A promise made should be a promise kept.’ so guys soon will complete my promise just Wait n watch.”

The model had promised to strip if the Indian cricket team lifted the ICC 2011 World Cup trophy.

The Indian team has delivered, and there was a growing demand that Pandey keep her side of the bargain.

Her mobile was reportedly switched off ever since the final match got over. The authenticity of the Twitter account she is supposedly tweeting from could not be verified.

Before the finals, Pandey wrote to BCCI that she was serious about baring it all for the boys, as it would be a therapeutic method to boost and inspire people to perform better in any field.

Immediately after the match was over, there were several Facebook captions such as, “Where is Poonam?”, “I’m waiting for you Poonam”, “Where the hell is Poonam Pandey. I bought an HD TV for you!”. According to the latest news, Poonam has requested the BCCI to choose another country such as Paris for her striptease, to avoid controversies in India.

SriLanka Won the Toss and they elected to bat first…

Often we’ve seen ardent fans cheering for their favourite Bollywood stars. But today afternoon, some of our biggest stars will be rooting for Team India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, during its final world cup battle against Sri Lanka.

Aamir Khan, who had gone to see the India-Pakistan semi-final at Mohali on Wednesday, has once again requested director Reema Kagti to cancel a day’s shoot.

Apparently, the superstitious actor has not only decided to wear the same T-shirt and trousers but also the same pair of shoes and socks he wore when the India beat their arch rivals by a comfortable margin of 29 runs.
Abhishek Bachchan, who couldn’t make it to Mohali, is also looking forward to catching the action live at the stadium. Though Amitabh Abhishek Bachchan has tweeted that he won’t be at Wankhede to catch the final match, Abhishek says, “I’m eagerly looking forward to supporting our team at Wankhede. Pa has been following all India’s matches. It will be great if he can accompany me.”
Lara Dutta will catch the game at Wankhede with her group of friends. “She just can’t wait for the match to start where she will root for Team India,” says a friend of the actor.
Suniel Shetty, who will be at Wankhede with wife Mana and son, to catch the match with industrialist Gautam Singhania and friends in the Raymonds box, will also stick to the white T-shirt and blue jeans he had worn in Mohali. “Before the semis, I told you that India can manage with over 250 runs because Pakistan didn’t look like a team that would go beyond 220,” he says, adding, “If we bat first and manage at least 270, we’ll win the final. Lanka won’t be able to take the pressure.”
“Sachin Tendulkar and team have handled Muttiah Muralitharan very well, we can easily play Ajantha Mendis too. We have a good bowling line-up and with a tight fielding, we can prevent the Lankans from outscoring us,” he adds.
Minissha Lamba calls the match “an epic moment” for Indian cricket. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” she says. Dino Morea, who is recovering from a sore throat after loudly cheering for India in the semi-final, sent a text message: “It’s going to be a tough match and I’m excited to be present amidst the maddening energy and excitement. I’ll be losing my voice for India again, but that doesn’t matter!”
